I make a lot of jokes about Unbreakable being kind of a downer. It was originally worse, believe it or not. I feel like the final fanfic really isn’t that sad. But it does have its moments.

Oh my god this is one of my favourite dub scenes. Between Joey’s “THEY TOOK HIS SOUL!”, Duke’s imitation of Kaiba and everyone laughing in the background, and then Kaiba getting so worked up over Yugi losing that he screams at them, it’s hilarious.

Man, I forgot about this scene entirely. I really do need to write more one-on-one time with Stormer and Jerrica. There’s so much potential there. Well, I’ve written multiple scenes where it’s just them talking but that’s only half the battle.
For a little backstory for this scene, “Fuck Riot Tour” is a fanfic I had started writing. I wasn’t too jazzed about it so I never posted it. But I reference back to the event and there. The opening concert is the one Kimber came out as Bi during. It was also when Jerrica and Pizzazz announced that The Misfits will be with Starlight Music.
I really do need to write that one. Rewrite it from the ground up.
I want more female characters who are just so bad at comforting others. Not for lack of trying or caring, they just get so so awkward when someone's upset, and they try to repeat things they've heard even if it doesn't necessarily apply to the situation, or they accidentally say the wrong thing and make it worse. If someone cries they panic and throw every single comfort technique down at once and it only helps because it's such bizarre behaviour
Basically I'm tired of female characters having the inherent “good helper/wise advisor” trait just bc they're women, and I'm also tired of the faux progressive 'female characters must have no emotion whatsoever'. People seem to think the opposite of being a good caretaker is just not caring, when actually the opposite of being a good caretaker is not knowing which care to take and when or how. Like throwing water onto an oil fire. Putting blankets over someone who is claustrophobic. Recommending family time to an orphan. Etc. I want a female character who will be up with you until 3am because you're struggling but she can't stop quoting Mister Rogers because she has NO idea what to say. Even if she's experienced the same things, she just has no idea how to convey any wisdom through words and gets super duper awkward if you start crying

This would make a really good ending to the chapter! I wanted this fanfic to only be two chapters long, but god damn this would be a good ending. And it would mean the dang thing is only 10K words long instead of the 15K it was lining up to be.
I’ve made a note in my document to potentially end the chapter here. And I’ll just keep writing until I reach my planned end and see how it feels.
My original original plan was to finish the entire fanfic before posting it. I’d split it into chapters how I saw fit. That way I could avoid a year+ long wait for the conclusion. But eh. I might not go that far.
Part of why this was my plan is because I might end the first chapter on a cliffhanger.
Astrology doesn't seem to work.
Some highlights:
- Astrologers helped design the study
- No one did better than random chance, even though they only included people in the study who are experienced with astrology and stated that they expect themselves to do better than random chance
- They gave every astrologer a set of 50 things about a person and 5 birth charts to choose from. They weren’t even coming up with the chart themselves!
- After taking the test, most thought they nailed it. Zero out of 152 did better than 5 out of 12. None nailed it
- Astrologers who rated themselves highly experienced (“world class experts”) did the same or worse as those who said they have limited experience. Both performed the same as random chance
- This is hilarious

I really like this website because somebody will be like “there’s nothing wrong with darting out from behind a parked car into traffic, bootlicker” and you can be like okay this clearly evolved from a valid point about how the US is too car-centric. But something happened to it.

Does anyone else remember when Elon was like "if anyone knows how to end world hunger for 6 billion USD, I'll fund it" and UNICEF was like "we're going to spend a month to make a plan to end world hunger for 6 billion USD and Elon is going to fund it" and Elon was like "actually, nah" and then bought Twitter instead?
I think that was one of the worst things I'll ever see in my life.
I still think that should be the thing for which he's the most famous. It should be brought up every time he's mentioned. In any news article, any interview, any history book. "Elon Musk, who was offered a chance to end world hunger and turned it down." Put it on his fucking gravestone.
My car is getting serviced and this auto shop has a shop dog and he's ridiculous. Look at this guy. This is a grown ass man.
Today’s scene I left out is one that I’m shocked I didn’t include. I feel like I meant for it to be in the chapter where Kimber woke up after having a nightmare about her accident. It was never going to come straight after the nightmare, but a scene or two later. And I just never put it in for some reason. A part of me thinks I might have simply forgotten. Wouldn’t be the first time.
Something really important to me about Stimber is how Kimber and Stormer feel so comfortable around each other. They can both just be themselves. They can have mature conversations with each other. Conversations that need to happen.
