I love tumblr. I was making a funny post about the oldest era of the planet I could remember the name of off the top of my head, but now that you mention it this post DOES highlight the significance of sentience; it's required to say "oh geez" after all

I’m watching Splash (1984) which is a romcom about a guy who falls in love with a mermaid, and when she chooses a human name she chooses Madison and guy says “that’s not a real name, but alright” which seems to imply that Madison was not a name until at least the 80’s and all girls named Madison are actually named after the mermaid. thought you should know

feluka

we need more pathetic female characters written by authors who don't hate women

feluka

to be clear since this is making the rounds: she has to be an absolute loser in no way that can be pinned on her gender. no "i'm just a girl tee-hee" stuff. straight up just a loser (nondenominational)

feluka

addendum: she must be the most important person in the whole narrative

feluka

I decided to sit down and concentrate and properly write the list of rules that qualify a character for this role.

  • FIRST LAW: This character must be a woman.
  • SECOND LAW: This character must be a loser, but not in a way that can be pinned on her gender. Misogynistic response from the audience does not disqualify the character.
  • THIRD LAW: If the audience does not enjoy this character, then it becomes impossible to enjoy the show/film/book/game altogether. It is not possible to ignore this character, for better or for worse.
  • FOURTH LAW: The character must make bad decisions, and not just be a victim of poor circumstances outside of her control. The character can also be a victim of poor circumstances outside of her control, but it has to be primarily her personal choices that deem her a loser.

what-even-is-thiss

Looking at the costs of things in countries that are less expensive and I think to myself ah so this is how Swiss people feel looking at every other country

what-even-is-thiss

I’ve got family from Switzerland and whenever they come to the US they arrive with suitcases full of clothes and other things that they want to throw away and they leave them here and fill them up again with a ton of stuff that they buy in the US. They always spend half of their time here shopping and I never quite understood that but then I started looking at what stuff costs in like Thailand and China and whatnot and I was like oh okay. I see. The entire world looks like this to them.

what-even-is-thiss

If you’re from like, say, literally anywhere, literally everything in Switzerland costs too much. Swiss people get annoyed at everyone saying that but it’s true and that’s why people say it. So nobody’s gonna stop saying it.

Swiss people do generally get paid enough to live in Switzerland though. So they go almost literally anywhere else and it’s like throwing pennies around. A Swiss person living in a studio apartment in Zurich could probably afford to buy your house and also you.

what-even-is-thiss

If you’ve ever looked at Thailand or something and been like what I can stay in a hotel for like 10 bucks a night???? That’s the world they live in.

So what you're saying is that I should be trying to attract Swiss patrons and ko-fi supporters.
