As it was becoming clear the US was headed into trade war territory, I got really interested in farming and the logistics of keeping people fed. I turned that interest into “your cool city needs a food supply,” available now!
it’s a hack of “i’m sorry did you say street magic” and “Microscope,” two gold-standard worldbuilding games. It was polished by Nico MacDougall, who gave me some great advice on how to make this game really align with the themes and ideas I had in the draft.
I’ve always been a sicko about logistics and agriculture (growing up in the US midwest will do that to you), and I hope this game helps people think about how great a privilege it is to eat.

It being Elon’s favorite game (or at least one so important to him that his biographer dedicates a lot of time to it) is…..really really funny.
Basically, imagine Civilization, but as a mobile game. So like if Civilization Revolution was even more dumbed down (that’s a Civilization insult. That’s devastating. It’s devastated right now). For what it’s worth, it’s not a bad game. On the contrary, from what I could tell in the little bit of time I played it, it’s a perfectly competent game with good design. But it’s not a deep game by any means. I played through it once, won easily on my first go, then saw that the other playable characters had barely any differences between them.
Like, not to imply you can judge a book by its cover, but here’s what it looks like

He’s not filibustering. He’s protesting the current administration.
For those of you from outside the US or those of you who didn’t pay attention in government class, in the US senate there’s really no limit to the amount of time a senator can speak. So sometimes if they don’t want a bill to pass they just. Don’t stop talking. To hopefully get past the deadline to vote on a bill. This is called filibustering.
Senator Cory Booker isn’t doing that. He’s disrupting “the normal business of the United States Senate for as long as I am physically able”. Just in protest. This doesn’t usually happen.
He’s less than 20 minutes away from breaking the record of the longest speech given on the senate floor
Cory Booker has officially broken Strom Thurmond’s record for longest speech on the senate floor and he’s still going
For those of you wondering what he’s been talking about this whole time, his staff wrote down a bunch of stuff for him to read like stories from people across the political spectrum opposed to what the administration is doing. He’s also been telling personal anecdotes about meeting important civil rights leaders and other democratic senators have been pausing him for “questions” but the questions have been as long as a small speech and have both served the purpose of giving him a second to sit down and updating him on the news that he’s been missing while he’s been talking.
He has yielded the floor at 25 hrs and 4 mins. His eyes are so wide they look like they’re going to bug out of his skull so I don’t blame him for stopping. He said to go out and get in some good trouble.

So apparently the current record for longest solo filibuster was set on August 28, 1957 by the racist Senator Strom Thurmond from South Carolina who began a filibuster intended to prevent the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1957. It lasted for a total of 24 hours and 18 minutes. (x) That record still stands now. If Booker keeps going just a little longer he will BREAK that record! How fitting would that be?
Also it is amazing. He’s been going for like 17 hours now and he is still doing an incredible job of speaking about so many important issues and just taking the Trump regime to task for their failures and their crimes. Hats off to him. Every Democrat Senator should be doing this. We cannot have business as usual. Every minute spent bringing attention to what MAGA is doing to dismantle our democracy and delaying the confirmation of the Trump administration’s nominees and political agenda is a minute well spent.

Yes he’s raising really good points and he’s being so damn eloquent. It’s nice to hear him just stand there and lay it all out - the myriad ways the GOP is waging war against the American people. I love what he’s doing for several reasons.
First of all, it delays things. While he’s talking the GOP can’t advance more corrupt nominees for confirmation or push through more evil legislation. Second of all, it create a forum to raise awareness of what’s going on, to articulate what is happening to us and what is at stake and why we must all stand against this and it sends a clear message that this is NOT a time for business as usual and we can’t normalize what’s going on.
But also, thirdly, it’s nice to see a Senator willing to suffer in solidarity with us, even just a little. We the American people are being subjected to suffering by this evil administration. Going without food, water, sleep or breaks is a grueling ordeal. And seeing a Senator willing to put himself through even a little discomfort in order to raise awareness of what’s going on and do his part, seeing him willing to suffer, even in a small way, in support of his constituents and his ideals feels nice. It feels so much more like the leadership we need to be seeing. Never underestimate the power of symbolism and gesture.
It’s just a start. We need SO much more. There is a long and difficult path to walk before we win - and we WILL win. But this is good. And it lifts my spirits.

Smart TVs are one of the great evils of the modern era tbh. If I wanted spyware on my TV I should have to download it myself
