My Nerdy Corner For The Fandoms

@kittycatcomander

18, they/them,

Hii! I’ve been here since middle school so my blog is a mess of every fandom phase I’ve gone through in my life (tread carefully ig?) hate has no home here, please be nice! I mostly reblog and post once in a blue moon. Currently trying to write something larger so I’ll post a link when my outline is more solid along with my first few chapters :)) I’ve got this summer before college to crank it out, and then I’ll be radio silent 😬

They/them, ace, If you’re a child then please don’t message me, and for your own sanity keep notifs off since I reblog in long bursts lmao.

Have a good day!

Just a rundown of Spinel's tactical moments/crimes so far:

  • Spied on the group for a while, then launched an attack on the Brave Olivine and disrupted all of the electronics on the ship and their phones
  • Had his own Pokemon attack Friede while he ordered them remotely so the heroes would never see his face, and forced Friede to reveal his Trump card of Terastallization.
  • Lured a preteen girl into a dark alley and mindwiped her, stealing her pendant (creepiest scene from this anime, honestly)
  • Had the heroes going thru a wild goose chase by disseminating false intel online, and also had a decoy deployed to distract Friede, their strongest battler at the time
  • Tried to harm/kill a defenseless Dot (who had just become a Trainer that night!) by having his Magneton use Electro Ball on her (thank goodness that was precisely when Liko and Roy found her)
  • Had his Umbreon attack the kids directly when they get the upper hand against Beheeyem and Magneton.(and was about to attack Liko again right before a pissed-off Arboliva appeared to make him reconsider)
  • Kept some info over what he observed on the pendant and how it interacted with Liko/one of the Heroes out of his report to the other Explorers and Gibeon.
  • Had a disinformation campaign running again keeping the RVT from pursuing other hero Pokemon effectively
  • Was the one who cooked up the "Let's let the Rising Volt Tacklers do the work for us" plot
  • The plot to catch Rayquaza in Ep44-45 is mostly his, and he lures Friede off into a trap again. He also learned from last time, boxing Friede and Pikachu in a small location so they couldn't go all-out with Charizard.
  • Apparently noticed Friede was in Exceed, stealth-blocked Friede's friend from accessing the files on Laquium, and then stole it right out from under Friede's nose.
  • Drove his own Umbreon, a friendship evolution, into a painful, berserk state.
  • Trapped Amethio and Liko in an icy cave, they definitely could have starved or froze to death in there.
  • While it's later revealed that he left his Beheeyem behind to monitor things in case Liko and Amethio escaped, and later used that footage to claim Amethio had betrayed them and get him banished, I think his hope was that they died down there, going by the way he talks about things here:
  • Just the fact he manipulated the apparent main villain into kicking out his own grandson who was genuinely loyal to him, to make it easier to stab him in the back later??? He had Gibeon wrapped around his little finger!
  • Left his own underlings/security behind just in case Amethio/his grunts tried to raid his office looking for evidence that he planned to betray Gibeon, and had them lock him somewhere away from Exceed where I don't think he was expecting anyone to find them (he even had them take their PokeBalls, just so they couldn't escape again. Another possible murder attempt?)
  • This way he smiles here is a pretty clear "God, I can't wait to see the look on your face when I inevitably betray you." (That turned out to be unnecessary, but he does essentially betray Gibeon and his wishes after his death.)
  • Jumped Friede again and severely weakened his Pokemon just before the final battle, which lead to them going berserk under the effects of Laquium later. (Plus teaching Beheeyem Skill Swap to render Pikachu and his Electric attacks useless was such a smart move.)
  • High probability that those inventions thumping the ground to activate the Laquium were his, just as the Laquium Spheres were.
  • Waited until Terapagos was powered down/in a weakened state to reveal that it didn't purify all the Laquium, using the Laquium Spheres to gas the Heroes and drive them all berserk.
  • Flipped the narrative and manipulated the media against our heroes by claiming the Rising Volt Tacklers were responsible for the damage done to Laqua and Kumuri.
  • Captured 5/6 of the Six Heroes. (And since we still don't know what happened to Friede, given Spinel's interest in him and their rivalry, I'm looking at him as a possible culprit.)
  • Is still fucking around with Laquium and sending various Pokemon into frenzies.

Honestly, he's definitely one of the smartest Pokemon villains we've had, and I expect this already long-ass list to get even longer in the future 🤣

Because I'm apparently speed running all the things I've ever been unwell about in Star Wars you what Clone Wars Era Duo I want to know everything about? Neyo, and Windu.

Like I just...

Neyo is an outsider even on Kamino because of his attitude. he's too brutal too cold too distanced from his brothers. He's efficient and effective and he's been fighting since the very beginning.

Mace Windu is powerful he's smart he's calm under all manner of pressure. But he's a Jedi. He's deeply and enduringly kind, He's going to fuck up strategies to save people he's going to veto plans that get his men killed unnecessarily even if it does mean that they're slower to reach the objective...

Idk man I just think they're interesting.

What is considered child mistreatment in Mandalorian culture (legends)?

I was inspired by this post but I didn't want to ruin a mood with my AcKcHuYaLlY vibes so I made a separate post about it.

While I agree with a sentiment of Cuy'val Dar should have rioted seeing children being mistreated, given they are a very heavily family and child centered culture, I've just recently read a few quotes from Republic Commando which made me wonder...

what is considered child mistreatment in their culture?

Because training children to be soldiers are not one. It is a perfectly normal thing to do for them.

What you will read here about: -- Potential reasons why the Cuy'val Dar didn't refuse the job -- Relationship of a Mando parent and their child: How Munin Skirata adopted Kal and with it giving him a predetermined path of life -- Little detour to the topic of how modernday parents don't include children in the household chores -- Pav-Ti and Ahsoka -- Walon Vau and Dred Priest's approach -- Kal Skirata's approach of training -- Little about Mandos and Jedi -- Sorry (not really), people. I still love Kal. -- I won't tag this as anti/pro/critical fandom fuckery. Only a Sith deaIs in absolutes.

Rest is under the cut.

Alpha-17 sees the Nulls in general and Ordo in particular as yappy chihuahuas. The kind of chihuahuas that have barks that just about perforate your eardrum and keep chewing on your most prized possessions but their owner is just like “they’re good boys” and you’re like “they’re not, you didn’t even get them rabies vaccines” and he’s like “they’re too strong to get it” and the damn yappers think they’re hot shit and you just want to punt them into the sun but that would cause too much paperwork, and then one of them bit your brother when he was just trying to shoo it out after it barged in without even giving a reason and he called you and you decided “fuck this, I’m stomping that thing until it stops moving,” but apparently that poorly trained chihuahua is a valuable asset so you can’t grab it by the pauldron and yeet it off the top of the Senate Building and you call your other brothers, who have also wanted to kill the damn things for ages, and you’re all commiserating and Muzzle suggests you all just do it, so now you’re heading to Coruscant to finally make those fucking chihuahuas stop yelling.

TLDR; Alpha sees Ordo as a chihuahua in armor, literally.

Edit: It’s important to note that Alpha sees a tiny dog all but crushed under a pauldron and buried under a kama. And Ordo’s not a healthy chihuahua; he’s one of those chihuahuas that’s clearly inbred, and that wouldn’t be so bad, except he’s also one of those chihuahuas that’s spent its entire life in a purse and being treated like a doll, with the end result that he’s a living ball of tremble and neuroses. According to Alpha-17, anyway.

Fi is such a fantastic fucking character. Top 3 Star Wars blorbos of all time to me. What if there was a guy known best for his ability to make jokes and have fun even in the most high-pressure situations, whose level of exuberance translates into every emotion so he also has a temper that flares hot and bright, especially in defense of his brothers. A character who is quickly, devotedly loyal and ready to throw hands for a squadmate he’s only known for weeks. Who nurses deeply the devastating trauma and grief and guilt of being the only surviving member of his original squad of brothers. A clone who, despite seeming to an outsider be the most well-adjusted, just under the surface has a longing for a life of civilian normalcy that he knows he can never achieve as a clone who was only made to fight a bloody endless war that has already taken everything from him— but he still wants it so badly he aches, and he feels guilty for that, too. Whose want and his grief and his guilt is a raw wound but his love tempers it. Who listens to house music. Really loudly.

Star Wars Republic Commando (Released 02-28-2005)

"You have been born into dangerous times. A sharp mind can be the key to survival. But as often as not, it will be your inherent physical traits that win the day. And in this regard you will be superior to your more common brethren. For you are a Commando, an elite unit, something truly special."

-Kaminoan Taun We to Clone Commando-in-training Boss

❤️ this classic, dope video game. (And the novels, too.) Hard to believe this was released 20 yrs. ago. Would've been SO cool if we had a Remaster or even a Republic Commando II sequel.

❤️ when playing Republic Commando how whenever Boss (AKA Delta Squad Leader AKA RC-1138 AKA 38 AKA Clone Commando Sergeant Boss) drew his BlasTech Industries DC-15S pistol, he would always spin it - just like Jango Fett, Boba Fett, Captain Rex, etc.

Also ❤️ that right-to-left laser-wipe that would clear away icky fluids that splattered on your helmet's T-Visor after any close encounters with hostiles & your Armor's trusty Knuckle Plate Vibroblade.

A-A-AND also ❤️ discovering a Jedi's lightsaber aboard the assault ship The Prosecutor which led to this line from Boss: "An elegant weapon for a more civilized time, eh? Well, guess what? Times have changed…!"

It's little details like these that make the lore of Star Wars, Star Wars video games & the Star Wars universe so immersive & enjoyable.

Poor Sev.

oh dear what is happening in the books

sidenote: I've only read until Triple Zero atm BUT OH BOY THIS SERIES asdfghjkll

Mandalorians love adopting kids right? And you know who’s very much parentless? Clones. But they’re fighting a war, they move around a lot. But the Coruscant Guard doesn’t. They can’t escape. They’d get collectively adopted by every madalorian on the planet. Corries warn their brothers to be careful when on shore leave, but it’s not enough to stop them from forcibly experiencing unconditional parental love and affection. But the clones consider each other family, they’re all brothers. Adopt one, you adopt them all. But one parent can only care for so many kids. So for the first time in centuries all Madalorians unite under one banner for the sake of their millions s of collective children.

Kal, catching Alpha-17 watching Fox and Cody wrestle and roll around together: You look like you want one of your own. Alpha-17, confused: What do you mean? Kal: An ad. Alpha-17: They are my ade...aren't they? Kal, raising his brows: You adopted them? Alpha-17: ...? Prime gave them to me. Kal, not having the heart to correct him: I guess he did...
