I am basically a Buddie mono shipper. I have written Buck/Connor, Buck/Tommy, and BuddieTommy since joining the fandom, but my heart belongs to Buddie.
I don’t care what other people ship; I filter things I don’t want to see. I’m very anti-drama in my fandom space. I try not to reblog hate against characters or ships that I don’t enjoy because I have friends who do enjoy them. My general motto is that fandom is for fun, and I’m going to spend my minimal free time focusing on things I enjoy, not hating on characters/ships that I don’t like.
one thing that’s always bothered me about eddie begins is that shannon says “we can sell the cars”, plural, as in they have multiple cars. like girl what for. it’s not like eddie is commuting to afghanistan

There’s something so vicious about Helena saying, ‘’here you go’’ and handing Chris’ mobility aid to Eddie the moment they walk in. It shows a total disregard for Chris’ comfort and safety. She loves the idea of a do-over kid, someone to dress-up and puppet like she did her own son, but she shows no concern for Chris’ needs. She doesn’t want to ‘deal with’ Chris’ disability, so she’ll happily allow Eddie to manage the parts of Chris’ life that are impacted by his CP. If the Diaz parents cared to, they’d know that Chris’ CP affects every aspect of his life. But they don’t care, so they only acknowledge his disability when it inconveniences them.
And Eddie, EDDIE MOTHERFUCKIN DIAZ, steps in and assists Chris with the crutches with such practiced ease. Because he’s an experienced caretaker, because the two of them have a routine, because he is himself disabled, because they’ve taken the time to learn how to accommodate each other’s disabilities. ‘Cause Eddie isn’t just thrilled to be a parent, he’s thrilled to be Chris’ parent (see: ‘’I love kids’’ ‘’I love this one’’). He cherishes the relationship he’s built with Carla, and he loves that he got to build a cool ass skateboard with his totally platonic boybestie so that they could all spend an enriching day in the park together. I’M SO HAPPY THAT THE DIAZ BOYZ ARE REUNITED.
Also I’m so fucking tired of yall saying that Eddie is just not good with words and Buck’s love is more believable because he says it. Basically all of the quotes we use are something Eddie said. The insanity that Eddie is bad with words needs to fucking end. Buck is the acts of service guy and Eddie is the words guy. PLEASE STOP SAYING EDDIE IS BAD WITH WORDS. “Oh, Eddie just doesn’t say his feelings” what the fuck is “You do matter to me” then? A fucking potato????????????????????????????????????
eddie’s ‘i was kinda hoping you would’ when asking buck to talk to christopher in s7 and then in this recent episode saying he was waiting for christopher to ask him to come live with him. eddie changing his will after almost dying but only telling buck about it after buck tells him maybe it should’ve been him. waiting for a sign to tell him which way to turn when shannon thinks she’s pregnant again. the decision eddie made to take action and stop waiting for permission from his parents or christopher at the end of this episode. if eddie’s arc for the rest of this season involves following this thread of no longer waiting for someone else to say something before he does i’m gonna go so insane
“why do you ship them? I thought the ship wasn’t canon?” bro we’re talking about fictional characters, who don’t actually exist in real life, from a media that focuses solely on fictional events that are not real either. so what if these two made-up characters didn’t kiss in their source material? they have lots of nasty gay sex on archive of our own and thousands of novel length slow burn enemies to lovers fics written about them. the fanon content at this point far exceeds the whole canonical franchise. the problem isn’t “it’s not canon” the problem is that you don’t allow yourself to let go of canon and enjoy the wonder of fan contents that are just as good / valid
on the path to being a gay eddie truther. still have so many episodes to go but there are so many signs already
seeing again the way pepa looked at buck and at eddie when he introduced her to buck rewired my brain. she looked like this when they were introduced:
i mean obviously i don’t know, but i’ve seen that look before on a parent’s face - the “is this one of your friends” look. i mean in a loving way. but you guys know the look i’m talking about
and so now i have all these thoughts about eddie as a kid, with horrible parents, exhibiting you know. tendencies. and getting those tendencies shut down, with prejudice. and i guess because of that first pepa and buck scene, i have all these thoughts now of pepa being the more liberal or maybe more loving part of the family who gets it and loves eddie the way he is.
then a whole bar full of women and not one was his type? mm hmm.
then seeing him with shannon in 2x10? why does he look like he’s trying to do “what he’s supposed to” and then is terrified of his own success when it looks like it’s going to work?
to me the question is, does he even know? or is it one of those situations where he’s the last to know? obv i could be wrong about all of it but i do feel like i’m watching a slow burn fic on my actual real television, so i could just be losing my marbles
I’m not one to moralize fandom arguments but if I were, I’d say something along the lines of: some people’s insistence on taking Eddie’s word at face value, saying that he’s definitely straight, saying that people are weird for shipping him with his canonically queer best friend, weird for thinking that he can be anything but straight, going as far as attacking those who celebrate him in pride and as a queer character, are using the same rhetoric homophobes use against queer characters in general. but I’m not one to moralize so I’m not gonna say that.
