You have the GPU, the dataset, the model. The training script is a few hundred lines. The hard part is everything that happens after. The post covers how we worked through GPU bottlenecks when bank statements pushed output tokens past our context window and resource constraints, tuned the VLM-specific parameters that defaults get wrong, fine-tuned training prompts to fix specific field regressions, and a few other things that mattered more than hyperparameters. Why does this matter? Frontier APIs handle document AI well, until you're processing tens of thousands of pages a day. At that point you're paying thousands a month, inheriting rate limits, and can't fix specific failure modes. A purpose-built 2B model on a single GPU changes the economics. Nasdaq-listed MakeMyTrip is evaluating an India listing for its domestic arm, MakeMyTrip India, to unlock local capital from institutions, HNIs and retail investors amid surging travel demand. This follows a March 16 SEC filing that details internal restructuring—merging redBus India into the entity to consolidate flights, hotels, buses and holidays under one streamlined roof for sharper domestic focus. "An India listing can be a catalyst to further boost the MakeMyTrip brand in its core market, strengthen its leadership in India and support longer-term growth," the company stated in the filing. The strategic pivot builds on last year's $2.6B share buyback from Trip.com (stake now <20%), echoing chairman Deep Kalra's 2022 comments on exploring an India public offering. Travel has gone online. Visa access, still hasn’t. That gap is what Atlys is building for. For millions of travelers, the visa process remains opaque, manual, and stressful. Atlys is digitising that workflow and turning it into a software product, bringing greater speed, transparency, and predictability to one of the most frustrating parts of international travel. The problem has felt especially real to me over the past year. At one point during the diligence process my passport was tied up with immigration authorities for a visa application, which ironically meant I couldn’t travel back to India to meet Mohak. It was a reminder that visas are still the most unpredictable part of international mobility. What stood out to us about Atlys was the product clarity.
