For nearly a decade Alice (Formerly ActiveFence) has protected 3 billion people from fraud, abuse and manipulation on the world's largest platforms. Now it does the same for AI. Alice covers the whole lifecycle of a model, from hardening it with the frontier labs before release to watching every interaction once a company runs it in production. When we wrote the first check, Noam and the team had one idea and it has not changed since. In an environment that shifts constantly, the only real defense will rely on a dataset of what bad looks like, and people who have seen enough of it to recognize the next version. That is Rabbit Hole, the largest dataset of real adversarial behavior anywhere. Today Alice announced $140M led by Apax Digital, joined by a strong group of new investors, with Grove Ventures and other existing ones doubling down. Its AI business is up more than 500% in two years, and 8 of the 10 leading AI labs are customers. Congratulations Noam Schwartz, Iftach Orr, Alon Porat, Eyal Dykan and the team. Proud to be part of your journey from the early days. Bloomberg's story in the first comment.

Most AI startups are resellers of their model provider. Most founders don't notice, because the disguise is a pricing model that sounds fair: consumption. Here's the one-question test: what unit does your startup charge in? There are only three answers, and they're a ladder. Charge per token, and you bill in the same unit you buy. Every price cut your model provider ships flows straight through to your customer, and your margin is whatever markup survives the pass-through. That's a reseller. Charge per insight, per answer delivered, per ticket resolved, and the unit flips. Intelligence is the fastest-falling input in your stack. Your cost collapses. Your price doesn't. The gap is yours. Charge per outcome, and your price lives inside the customer's result. The holy grail, and the hardest to reach: it takes attribution, trust, and contracts most startups can't get on day one. Lawyers have been running this exact ladder for a century: by the hour, by the case, by the win. And here's what AI does to it: when the work gets 10x faster, the hourly lawyer earns less. The flat-fee lawyer keeps the difference. The contingency lawyer takes ten more cases. It's no accident that the most profitable law firm in the world bills a share of the deal, not the hours. I spent my legal internship year in a tax department, and the pattern was impossible to miss: the tax lawyers taking a share of the tax they saved were earning more per hour than anyone billing by it. The "no win, no fee" people drive the best cars. Tokens get cheaper every quarter. Who keeps the difference: you or your customer? Your pricing unit already decided. Grove Ventures

Stripe is in talks to pay $10 billion for a three-year-old company. Google made this exact move in 2005, and it became one of the best acquisitions in tech history. In 2005, Google was a search company that saw the world going mobile. Whoever controlled the new form factor would control where search lived. So Google bought Android for around $50 million and gave it away for free. The OS wasn't the product. It was the moat. Stripe is a payments company, and the world is going to AI. The models hold the power, but the router decides which model runs and at what price. That's OpenRouter: the switchboard of the model economy, millions of developers routing across hundreds of models. The real prize is underneath: payments. Stripe can become the checkout of the intelligence layer, the rails on which companies pay the model providers. Google gave Android away and took its cut through the Play Store. Stripe can give routing away, even open-source it, and take its cut on every token bill that flows through. Why Stripe and not a model lab? A router has to be neutral. The day a model provider owns it, that promise dies. Stripe doesn't field a team, so it can own the referee. 2005: a search company bought the door to mobile. 2026: a payments company is bidding for the door to AI. The AI era won't be won only by AI companies. Some of the sharpest winners will be pre-LLM incumbents converting the position and resources they built in the last era into control points in this one. Stripe isn't buying into AI. It's making AI run through Stripe.

Most of what matters in venture happens before the story is written. By the time a shift is on the front page, it is consensus. And once everyone agrees something is a good idea, the advantage in it is mostly gone. The important work happened years earlier, when it was still hard to explain. SpaceX spent its best years being ignored. The uncovered years are where the position gets built. The same is true in AI right now. The loud layer is easy to build, which is exactly why it is hard to win in. When capability becomes obvious, it stops being the moat. The edge moves to what is still genuinely hard: the regulated, the physical, the domain-deep, the problems a model alone does not solve. So I do not underwrite consensus. I underwrite difficulty. The harder something is to build, the longer its advantage lasts once it is built. That is where I spend my time, on the companies the front page has not discovered yet, and I wrote last week about where I think that edge is moving. Two things still earn venture money: technology that is hard to build, or a market position that is hard to catch. Everything in between is a good business. It is just not a venture bet. Flight number 10 since we landed in Austin. 24 days. Ten flights. This seat has become my second home, and I am not complaining about a single one of them. Boston today. Customers, investors, and friends. But the real event is tonight. We are hosting 25 revenue leaders with Sam Nelson in a VIP box at Fenway for the Boston Red Sox game. Twenty five people who run revenue at serious companies, in one box, with a baseball game as the excuse. Nobody is presenting. There is no deck. Just the people who carry the number, talking to each other about what actually works. I keep learning the same lesson in different cities. The GTM conversations that change how you operate do not happen in a webinar. They happen in a box at a ball game, at a dinner table in Austin, in a customer's office an hour outside of town. Boston tonight. Austin, Day 24/30.

Salesforce and Anthropic just announced Claudeforce. 37 prebuilt sales skills, Claude inside Agentforce, Salesforce inside Claude. Every one of those skills is only as good as the data sitting underneath it. That is the whole story. Day 23 of 30 since we moved everything from Israel to Austin. First, credit where it is due. This is the right direction. Putting a frontier model against enterprise data with per-user permissions, real security boundaries, and an admin who can set it up once, is exactly where GTM is going. Anyone who tells you otherwise is not talking to enterprises. But here is what every sales and ops leader already knows in their gut. The data in Salesforce is a fraction of what actually generates and closes pipeline. A "deal health review" skill cannot tell you your champion just finished a trial with your competitor. It was not in the CRM. An "account prioritization" skill cannot see that the account tripled its data engineering headcount last quarter, that four of their engineers joined a community discussing the exact problem you solve, or that their 10-K flagged the initiative your product serves. None of that lives in Salesforce, because Salesforce was never designed to hold it. CRM is a record of what already happened. Revenue gets created from what is happening outside of it. Now the part that made me sit up. The biggest player in the market just publicly acknowledged that its advantage is being a database with enterprise grade permissions. The reasoning, the judgment, the actual removal of human labor from GTM, all of that happens in the model layer now. That is not a small admission. That is a re-rating of where the value sits in this stack. Which is why I think this announcement is the best news Onfire AI has had all year. We are not building workflow automation on top of a CRM. We are building the intelligence infrastructure that the GTM factory runs on: the signals, the context, and the execution layer that makes any of those skills actually work. Salesforce is one input into that. An important one. One. The skills are the easy part. The foundation is the hard part. We have spent years on the hard part. We are going to take the crown. Marc Benioff Dario Amodei thanks for the invite. Austin, Day 23/30.

This summer, we spent a lot of time talking with founders and AI deployment leaders across some of Israel’s leading B2B AI companies. One thing became very clear: no two companies are building their deployment function the same way. Different team structures, different KPIs, different backgrounds, different ways of splitting the work between deployment, product, engineering and sales. That felt like a conversation worth bringing into the open. On September 16, we’re bringing some of the people doing this work every day into one room for AI, Deployed: Lessons from Deploying AI Inside the Enterprise. And the room is filling up quickly. We’ll be hosting Ido Michaeli from Palantir Technologies, Nitzan H. from Onfire AI, Or Gany from Wonderful, and Roi Shiran from Kela Technologies, with opening remarks from Lotan Levkowitz. We’ll talk about what actually happens after the technology works: how teams deal with messy customer needs, what they learn when deployments don’t go as planned, how one successful implementation becomes something repeatable, and where the Forward Deployed Engineer fits into all of this. If you’re building Enterprise AI, working in deployment, or trying to understand how this function should look inside your company, come join us. Registration link in the first comment.

This summer, I had the opportunity to complete an internship that gave me a behind the scenes look at what it truly takes to operate a hotel. I rotated through the Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, the Kitchen, and the administrative side of the business, including Management, Revenue, and Accounting. Each department gave me a different perspective and showed me how every role contributes to creating an exceptional guest experience. Working at the Front Desk was one of my favorite parts of the internship. I loved interacting with guests, hearing about their stays, and asking what we could do to make their experience even better. Those conversations reinforced that hospitality is about much more than checking someone in. It is about making people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. Spending a week in Housekeeping gave me an entirely new appreciation for the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes. It taught me how much attention to detail goes into preparing every room and how even the smallest touches can leave a lasting impression. I also spent time in the kitchen helping make fresh cookies for the Regency Club, which reminded me that thoughtful details often create the most memorable guest experiences. Working alongside the Maintenance team changed the way I see a hotel. I started noticing things I never would have thought about before, from lighting and temperature to preventative maintenance. It gave me a new appreciation for the people who quietly keep everything running. My time in the back office was equally valuable. Learning about management, revenue, and accounting helped me understand that while the Front Office is the face of a hotel, the back office is the engine that keeps it moving. Seeing how operational and financial decisions shape the guest experience gave me a deeper appreciation for hotel leadership. Beyond everything I learned, I was fortunate to build meaningful friendships with an incredible team who welcomed me, answered my endless questions, and made every day enjoyable. This internship confirmed something I did not fully realize before. I truly love hospitality. Watching every department work together toward one goal of creating an exceptional guest experience made me realize this is an industry where I can genuinely see myself building a career. Thank you to everyone who invested their time in teaching and mentoring me. I am incredibly grateful for this experience and excited to see where this journey takes me. 5 Israeli Startups to Watch Ahead As “Startup Nation”, Israel consistently launches more cutting-edge startups per capita than the rest of the world. Here are 5 Israeli startups that are riding the next tech wave. - Base44, the AI-powered no-code app builder, was launched in 2025 by Maor Shlomo. The startup transforms a text prompt into a fully functional web app or game. Base44 had over 100,000 users and partnerships with Israeli tech leaders like eToro and Similarweb. In 2025, Base44 was acquired in 2025 for $80 million by Wix. - Decart restyles streams, webcam feeds, and gameplay with AI. The startup was founded in 2023. In 2025, Decart raised $100 million in Series B funding at a $3.1 billion valuation. Dean Leitersdorf co-founded the startup in 2023. - VFR developed a dynamic ad player that powered by real-time user data and places ads where it makes sense. In 2025, VFR secured $10 million at a $150 million valuation. - Styletech is the AI-powered platform that makes a single image runway-ready in seconds. Brands can mix and match looks, models, and campaigns at the click of a button to cut both costs and complexity. - Prompt Security built the firewall to keep generative AI safe and under control in real-time. Founded in 2023 by Itamar Golan and Lior Drihem, it was acquired by SentinelOne. Photo: Prompt Security Source: https://lnkd.in/dXY23bZ7

Founder: “It feels like everything is possible in AI right now.” Me (VC): “That’s true. And that’s exactly what makes this moment tricky.” Investing in pre-seed Israeli AI startups never felt more exciting or more disorienting... At Remagine Ventures, we’re falling in love with ideas at an unprecedented rate. - Companies are adopting new tools, enabling young startups to get traction - Models are improving monthly. Tooling is cheap. - It genuinely feels like the entire market is up for grabs. But beneath the excitement, there are real headwinds. - OpenAI reportedly ran at an ~$8B loss in 2025, with some predicting insolvency by 2027. It needs massive funding to keep the lights on - VC funding hit record highs, but AI now takes half of all VC dollars (which is increasingly concentrated in mega-deals) - Enterprise pilot → paid conversion sits at just 12% (McKinsey & Company, 2025) So while it feels like everything is possible, not everything is viable. If we're realistic, most AI startups will fall in one of these buckets: - Some companies will build enduring businesses - Some will find strong strategic buyers - Many will struggle quietly as economics, competition, and buyer expectations catch up. At pre-seed, the hardest part isn’t spotting what’s impressive. It’s spotting what’s resilient: 1) real wedges, not demos 2) painful problems, not cool tech 3) credible paths to distribution, not just early usage 4) founders who can navigate model shifts, pricing pressure, and buyer fatigue 5) a reinforcement learning advantage - the more data we get, the better the product becomes So when a founder tells me “everything is possible,” my next question is usually: What makes this company one that can last when the excitement fades? Here is what he told me works, based on his experience with NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Johnson & Johnson, Citi, and Berkshire Hathaway. AI can lower cost to serve, shorten wait times, and scale 24x7. It does not guarantee growth or loyalty. Salesforce says AI agents now handle a large share of support, and about four thousand roles were removed, while the revenue outlook still softened. Learn the right takeaway: productivity is not valued by default. What to do now? • Classify work, automate repetitive tickets, reserve humans for high emotion and high value moments • Track customer outcomes, FCR, CSAT, churn, downgrade rate, time to human handoff • Design the handoff, clear escalation paths, response time targets, and ownership by name • Tighten knowledge, weekly refresh of playbooks and prompts, retire stale answers • Stress test ethics, privacy, disclosure that an agent is an agent, easy opt-out for a person If you would like Chris to work directly with your firm in Israel, please message or email me at: orengroup1@gmail.com. #AI #CustomerExperience #Salesforce #Automation #BusinessStrategy##StartupNation#IsraelTech
