AI hit web creation like a storm. Creators are asking the hard questions: Will we be replaced? Will websites still matter if answers live inside LLms / ChatGPT? Will the internet look anything like it does today? The honest answer: we don’t know. Nobody does. But we’ve seen this movie before. Every major technology shift disrupts the status quo, and then creates a new ladder for professionals to climb. Horses became cars. Manual lines became machines. The work didn’t vanish, it leveled up. Value moved from raw execution to judgment, quality, and systems. That’s how we see the next era of the web. Elementor's why is simple: We exist to empower web creators to build their future. AI doesn’t change that mission, it sharpens it. The question is not “AI or creators.” The question is where AI truly helps, and where human control is still non-negotiable. AI is incredible at speed and variation: generating drafts, exploring directions, producing options, and collapsing the time from idea to first version. It’s an accelerator. But AI still struggles with what defines professional work: accountability, consistency, context, and outcomes. It can hallucinate. It can be generic. It can produce something that looks right but breaks under real requirements: performance, accessibility, brand precision, conversion flows, SEO strategy, and long-term maintainability. Most importantly, AI can’t own the result. A professional does. And in a world where anyone can generate a “good enough” site, the differentiator becomes taste, intent, and the ability to build something that actually works in the real world. That leads to a core principle: in the AI era, control must be atomic. “Generate everything, then try to edit” creates a trap. The more automated the output, the harder it is to adjust precisely. Speed without control becomes fragility. Our approach is the opposite. With the Atomic Editor, we start from atomic building blocks: a system where every part of the site is intentionally constructed from clear, editable components. Then we layer AI on top as an acceleration layer, not a replacement layer. AI can help you generate, iterate, and explore at speed, but the output is always mapped back into real atomic elements you control. That means no “locked” results and no fragile black boxes. Whatever you create, you can inspect, refine, and tune at the most precise level, so professional standards like performance, accessibility, consistency, and conversion intent stay intact. AI becomes leverage.  The web isn’t ending, it’s evolving. Interfaces will shift. Discovery will shift. But businesses will still need trusted destinations, differentiated experiences, and owned presence. The future of web creation won’t be “fully automated.” It will be amplified. Creators who learn to direct AI, and platforms that combine speed with atomic control, will define what comes next.

Over the past year, I’ve been leading Elementor One from ideation to full-scale launch. I wanted to share some behind-the-scenes context on the rationale and business decisions that led to it. Elementor One is a new subscription that brings together capabilities across website creation, optimization, and management in WordPress. If you’re used to some website builder platforms, it’s natural to expect a certain level of unification. In WordPress however, things work differently - by design. WordPress’s plugin based, modular ecosystem is one of its biggest strengths. It offers freedom, choice, and access to a massive community. Elementor grew inside that world. Over time, that also meant building a broad portfolio, from the core builder (now powering 13% of the web!) to hosting, image optimization, accessibility, AI and more. When I joined Elementor, I was asked to challenge old assumptions and rethink the experience as a whole. One core insight quickly emerged. In multi-product companies (Elementor included) complexity rarely comes from any single tool. It shows up between them, in usage limits, pricing logic, mental overhead, and decisions users have to make that are not really about the job to be done. That insight shaped two key choices behind Elementor One. - First, designing it as a unified environment. - Second, introducing a shared credit system. The unified environment was not about bundling products together. It was about creating a single, coherent experience, with one place to understand usage, value, and trade-offs, rather than managing each tool in isolation. The goal of the credits model was not monetization complexity. It was about flexibility, letting web creators use what they need, when they need it, without overcommitting or constantly reoptimizing their plan. Behind the scenes, this required real cross company work. We had to model usage across products, align teams around a shared economic system, and design pricing and experience as one integrated whole. The result is a setup that is more cost effective at scale, built to adapt to change, and easier to navigate as a whole. Most of that work is invisible, but its value compounds over time. I’m excited to see where that leads, and to share more along the way as Elementor One continues to evolve into a professional standard for web creation.
