Leelah Alcorn was a trans girl, a teenager, who sadly committed suicide nearly 10 years ago. I'm happy that her comic touches the hearts of so many people, years after her death.
I saved screenshots of her blog and last message to the world. Her parents had a lot of control over how she was perceived after her death, but it was also to prevent deletion by Tumblr itself. Even back then, Tumblr has been shadow banning trans women on this platform.
My heart goes out to all trans women who are struggling with society's expectations of who they are supposed to be and who they are allowed to be. May you find peace, growth, and respite from whatever you're going through. You deserve happiness, most of all. Thank you for living, thank you for being here with us.

The E.U. also began phasing out subsidies for olive-oil producers and bottlers, in an effort to reduce crime, and after a few years it disbanded the task force. Yet fraud remains a major international problem: olive oil is far more valuable than most other vegetable oils, but it is costly and time-consuming to produce—and surprisingly easy to doctor. Adulteration is especially common in Italy, the world’s leading importer, consumer, and exporter of olive oil. I’ve been reading Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil by Tom Mueller, and wow, the things that get sold as ‘extra virgin’ olive oil are kind of scary, especially if you have any allergies. Or if you’re trying to use olive oil for health reasons – you’re likely paying a premium for something with none of the benefits you’re looking for.
Also, you could write at least 8 different genre novels about skullduggery in the olive oil trade, starting with a murder mystery and working your way out, because there’s just so much to unpack.

Handing Putin eastern Ukraine for no other reason than because Putin took it with force is not only illegal under international law according to the Budapest Memorandum where the West guaranteed Ukraine’s security and territorial integrity. It’s also retroactively legitimizing Russia’s settler colonial policies in Crimea and Donetsk and Luhansk.
This is explicitly and directly offering a reward and incentive for Putin to invade, conquer, and rape more and more of Europe. Do you think he will stop with Ukraine? Russian aggression extends to ALL OF EUROPE.
Russia has cyberattacked Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian digital infrastructure. Russia occupies much of Georgia. Russia interferes in Finnish and Swedish and Romanian elections. Russia blew up a munitions factory in Czechia. Russia shot down a Dutch civilian airliner flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. The Russians poisoned Russian dissidents on British soil, including two British nationals. Russia conducted training for a nuclear bombing of Lisbon… off the coast of Portugal!
To sell out Ukraine is to sell out Europe. All of the EU is threatened by Russian expansionism which will only be *rewarded* by the defeatist vatniks who currently control the U.S. government. Germany was partitioned as punishment for a war they started. This would be partitioning Ukraine for defending themselves in a war they didn’t start. There is only one, undivided, sovereign Ukrainian nation-state.

JVP also falsely promotes non-Jewish rituals created by the Neo-Pagan Kohenet movement as "queer inclusive" Jewish rituals. They continue to do this even today and are fully aware of the lie.

If anyone has taken their eyes off what's happening to federal workers in the US right now, here's some highlights that we're hearing from our comrades across the government who have not yet been fired:
- In one building (hosting multiple agencies), the locks on the bathroom were changed so employees no longer have any access to a bathroom during the workday. People are peeing in trash cans.
- Elsewhere, multiple agencies have reported that hand soap is no longer being supplied in the bathrooms.
- Toilet paper supplies have not been adjusted to meet the needs of a vastly increased number of in-office employees.
- Employee-owned coffee and coffee makers have been stolen or thrown away without notice (it was already illegal for taxpayer dollars to be spent on supplying federal employees with amenities like coffee, so many offices have coffee supplied by pooled employee funds).
- Meanwhile, many offices don't even have potable drinking water (recurrent legionella outbreaks), so employees have to bring their own water from home.
- Despite an explosion in the number of workers in offices, cleaning budgets have been slashed and many offices are not being cleaned regularly enough to remain sanitary. Pests like roaches and rats are a problem.
- The firings continue, legal and illegal. Entire programs are being cut. Managers have no idea when they might lose staff. Employees are getting fired at 6pm on a weekend or finding out when they're unable to log into their computer or when they receive a shipping label in the mail to return their equipment.
- Through all of this, the DOGE employees in federal workplaces are enjoying incredible and expensive luxury: AI-powered sleep pods, entire dormitories so they can live in federal buildings, nurseries for their children on site, free food and beverages, laundry services, and who knows what else. They have special security to restrict access to their areas of the buildings, including armed guards.
And I'm not just saying this to lament how bad it is for federal workers. I'm saying this because, as workers are reporting this to one another, the response is, inevitably: "This is illegal." "Yes, but who would I report it to? OPM? They're a DOGE puppet. OSHA? They've cut OSHA. The Inspectors General? Cut. The NLRB? Cut. My union? No longer recognized."
There is no one left to enforce these laws, so taking away access to basic sanitation is now effectively legal. They are doing this to federal workers, who historically have been some of the best-protected workers in the country. They are doing this specifically because it demonstrates to the public sector that it is now legal to do these things to their own workers.
