this is basically a short horror film

This is what dreams are like - terrible dreams you wake up sweating from and going “ what time is it?” And then he realise you’ve woken up like two hours before your alarm.

sorry boss can’t come in today i was on my way to work and then a gentle spring breeze kissed my cheek and reminded me it is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world

One day, the sunrise painted the clouds peach and apricot so I pulled over and just watched the sun come up. I caught shit for being late but just let that shit go.

Another job, I went to the shipping department, where the shipper was sitting in his forklift in the middle of the wide open bay doors, watching the sky. Stunning fluffs of vermilion, peach, orange, and gold filled the sky. I stood next to his forklift and stared at the patch of sky. Our boss came out to ask what we were doing. “Watching the sky,” I said, quietly. He stood next to me and stared as the sun came up. When it was done, we returned to work. I, for one, carried that peace with me until the end of day.
