Hey everyone! I know it’s been a while, well I’m currently working on making a new and improved blog. I’ll share the promo on this account along with possible others I will be writing.
TW: POLICE BRUTALITY, DEATH
The footage circulating on social media shows three officers intervening against a young Romani man who keeps trying to get out from under them. One officer holds the man’s feet, another then kneels on his neck for several minutes.
A third officer helps handcuff the man, who is shouting. Several Romani people who are bystanders can be heard in the footage commenting on the intervention.
“They’re smothering him,” a woman’s voice can be heard to say. “That’s their job,” a man’s voice says, defending the police intervention.

Michal Mižigár, a Romani student of history and Romani Studies who won the Aspen Central Europe Leadership Award in 2019 from the Aspen Institute Central Europe, commented that the footage shows “The Romani Floyd today in Teplice!” Recalling the attack on Romani children at a summer camp run by the Romani musician Ida Kelarová and the death of a Romani man in police custody inside a pizzeria in Žatec, he added: “I feel genuinely powerless and sad. This is not the first case.”
Like this, if you want to remain mutuals, I’m going to start soft blocking.

May 16 is Romani Resistance Day, which commemorates the uprising of Roma and Sinti prisoners at Auschwitz-Birkenau.
In May of 1944, Roma and Sinti prisoners staged an armed resistance against the planned “liquidation” of the gypsy camps, which would have led to the mass murder of approximately 6,000 Romani. Thanks to the efforts of the Roma and Sinti interned at Auschwitz, these execution plans were staggered and delayed for several months. We hold this day to honor their bravery, mourn their deaths, and memorialize that which the Romani community endured under the Nazi regime.
You can learn some more about Romani Resistance Day, and the ongoing effort to preserve the Berlin memorial to murdered Roma and Sinti against Deutsche Bahn’s railroad development, by listening to this episode of Smith’s Kushti Podcast.
The ERRC’s Romani Tea Room has also put out an episode collecting stories from descendants of Romani Holocaust survivors.

I am not going to be active for a couple of days just to clear my head and focus on finals, granted I’m almost done but still. Here will be my interest checker for anyone who wants to fill this out, if you want to chat elsewhere such as discord don’t hesitate to DM me. Also, before I forget, I will be achieving this account and starting a new one as well as creating a Donna Beneviento blog.
I need to learn more about Resident Evil because I would love to make a blog of Donna Beneviento.
Just a reminder that today is NOT Mexico’s Independence Day, that’s September 16th. Today actually marks the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. I don’t really know why people here in America celebrate today, I guess it’s an excuse for them to get hammered. God, sometimes I hate my fellow Americans. Anyways, it’s not like Mexico celebrates the Fourth of July…let’s stop making Cinco de Mayo a thing here.
