the people on tiktok filming a blob-like strawberry and saying it’s a GMO one…fucking fake strawberry fans…they literally can grow naturally like this
it’s just the strawberries growing together. do not speak lies of these beautiful freaks ever again
every time I find a strawberry like this i’m not hating. i’m happy because there’s more strawberry to eat. unlike you
its called fasciation and it’s a mutation that happens in plants all the time! it’s perfectly natural, just a neat variation that comes from a wide array of genetic possibilities :)
Its so interesting that when people hear gmo they think its gotta look wrong but the real gmo plants are the ones that look perfect and plump everytime, that’s the kinda thing they’re selecting for

Research has shown that pleasure affects nutrient absorption. In a 1970s study of Swedish and Thai women, it was found that when the Thai women were eating their own (preferred) cuisine, they absorbed about 50% more iron from the meal than they did from eating the unfamiliar Swedish food. And the same was true in the reverse for the Swedish women. When both groups were split internally and one group given a paste made from the exact same meal and the other was given the meal itself, those eating the paste absorbed 70% less iron than those eating the food in its normal state.
Pleasure affects our metabolic pathways; it’s a facet of the complex gut-brain connection. If you’re eating foods you don’t like because you think it’s healthy, it’s not actually doing your body much good (it’s also unsustainable, we’re pleasure-seeking creatures). Eat food you enjoy, it’s a win-win.
what
no seriously
what?
PLEASURE IS A NECESSARY PART OF HUMAN HEALTH, BOTH PSYCHOLOGICALLY AND PHYSICALLY
this is why you should be eating your chips with salsa and guac instead of beating yourself up for not eating a salad with tomato and avocado (unless you are a salad bitch like me then enjoy both of them!)
here’s a recent systemic review of all the research done on the subject
for those of you wondering if the studies cited above are legit and if so where we can read about them, here’s a link to one of the (more than a dozen!) papers written on the topic of nutrient absorption and how you eat your food:
hey look, additional info!
ON WISCONSIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is what I mean by right wingers being the MOST out-of-touch!!!! Journalists who interviewed Wisconsin voters are saying that voters for both candidates were really turned-off by Musk’s role in the race, and that they thought it was clear he was trying to buy their election. Musk and DOGE are getting booed in town halls in deep, deep red districts. These Republican Party officials are failing to listen to their own voters, not even just Democrats or swing voters, when they say these things. The only way you’d fail to recognize that Musk is unpopular throughout the American populace and its political spectrum is if you’re in a far-right echo chamber, probably online. If you’re just straight-up not leaving the house to get your impressions of how people vote.
*drinks a gallon of milk in 6 minutes in order to gain superautism*
Though I hate PETA, the original message was that if you cannot digest milk protein (casein) as an infant, it can be an indicator for autism, as many autistics have been shown to have a casein intolerance or allergy due to our gut biomes being different to a neurotypical’s.
PETA then took this to its illogical extreme and blamed milk for autism. I am autistic and allergic to casein. This is a real indication in early childhood, that is used as a screening tool for pediatricians (especially if it coincides with a gluten intolerance or allergy) to get that kid tested for autism! A lot of parents then use a Casein Free/Gluten Free diet (CFGF) when raising confirmed autistic kids. (I am not allergic to gluten, thankfully.) If you look up CFGF you can find tons of autistic adults who also adhere to it. Some claim it reduces “symptoms” but I think that’s all bullshit. It reduces the chance of an allergic reaction and is just a little flag for doctors to look at a kid more closely.
It’s an actual bit of useful science that’s been fucked over by harmful messaging.
Yeah okay, I’ll reblog that
This is the best recent example I’ve seen of “correlation does not equal causation.”
Also, “reduces symptoms”? People are better behaved and more able to cope with life and other problems when their tummies don’t hurt. Young children and people with limited verbal skills cry less when their tummies don’t hurt.
Addressing any comorbid food sensitivities doesn’t treat autism, but it sure might reduce meltdowns and make other issues easier to cope with.
MSNBC covered this story yesterday. Unfuckingbelievable

Most of these parents have the vaccines. The adults were manipulated by junk science peddled by fellow vaccinated morons.
The children deserve a better life.
