The only inferior aspect to it is that it lacks cats.

Ah yes, saya no uta. It is interesting that saya is rejected almost entirely because of her appearance. She never really had the chance to fit into society because of her appearance. The work really does an excellent job of demonstrating how appearances color our view of reality. It reminds me of the painting, the treachery of images:

It really outlines how we make decisions and assumption based on the appearance of something alone. A bold take on lovecrafts work, I agree.
