Bro absolutely COOKED with this.

If you ever hear the phrase "fascism is aesthetics as politics," that's what this post is talking about.

It's not about being tough on crime, because the absolute toughest most brutal measure you could take against "crime" as a social problem is to alleviate poverty, and increase access to education, healthcare and social mobility.

It's about performing "tough on crime" as an aesthetic by enacting violence against a prop, i.e. minorities and the impoverished, who are fetishized and objectified to represent "crime." They are brutalized as punishment for crime, but never with the purpose of alleviating the problem of crime.

This is why a lot of conservatives and other right wingers can get straight up angry when you suggest things like reform or social measures to reduce crime. They don't want crime to be reduced, they want an eternal war against "crime" because it provides an arena for the righteous to demonstrate virtue by brutalizing their enemies.

I did a thing!

Or more accurately, a whole bunch of cool-ass, courageous Jewish organizers did a thing and I helped take photos!

IfNotNow Boston shut down BU Bridge for 2 hours - because that’s what you do when your Senator won’t meet with you!

It was an incredibly powerful action. We sang, heard some moving speeches, blew the shofar, and said the Mourner’s Kaddish for the Israeli civilians killed and Palestinians murdered in the ongoing Nakba.

Btw calling anti-Zionist Jews “fake Jews” is fucking laughable. Like people are going to learn the Mourners Kaddish, cite Torah deep cuts and wear tefillin as an elaborate psy-op.

oh my god

dont you hateee when you have to wash your battle jacket to get rid of the smell of weed. i fantasize about calling the cops on you btw and only dont do so because my queer housemates would judge me if i did. i just want to make sure you know that, that i think you should consider yourself lucky that i dont enforce the posthumous will of Ronald Reagan and call a terror force on you for recreational drug use simply because i dislike the smell. i just want to make sure you know how much i really really want to do that. but remember anyone can be punk youre all so hecking valid!

Got a rare dopamine boost scrolling bluesky and seeing:

1) US politicians in deep red districts being confronted by their increasingly angry constituents.

2) Seeing the size and number of protests happening at tesla dealerships (scroll TeslaTakedown or check out Alex Winter’s feed)

3) Vermont showing up to scream at vance and ruin his ski holiday

People are out there being loud and getting louder

Protests are happening and they are getting bigger

Town halls are overflowing and when politicians run, people are starting to meet them at their offices or vacation spots

Let’s keep it going
