it’s crazy how absolutely blatantly luigi’s constitutional rights are being breached and people seem more concerned about his appearance than a real, scary view of the power CEOs and the healthcare industry have over the legal system. like yeah he looks good in those photos i can appreciate that too but can we focus on the fact that the media is absolutely treating him as if he has already been found guilty. this could happen to anyone. anyone could be arrested over the death of a wealthy, influential person and the precedent being set right now is essentially that the prosecution can run wild and create documentaries declaring your guilt. like that’s really serious and scary.
I bet if a mushroom could lap water out of your hand with a tongue that a gently drinking mushroom tongue on your hand would be the softest and gentlest thing.
jesus christ, i experienced brief but severe grief over not actually being able to experience this.
I think it would feel like a lizard tongue but I’ve never had a lizard drink out of my hand either, and thus the whole thing remains conceptually elusive.
this put such a vivid image in my head i needed to make it real as soon as i got home
do you ever see paleolithic art and go “oh fuck that’s good” like they hadn’t developed agriculture or the wheel but god damn could they paint horses real good
look at this pretty accurate horse art. this is from chauvet cave and is between
31,000 to 28,000 years old.
(reminder that a lot of detail and pigment has also been lost over time, so we are also only getting some of the effect the artist intended)
I fucking love cave art, and while I’m not sure “photorealistic” is even a fair measuring stick for skill (would you accuse Picasso or Chuck Jones of just not knowing how real people look?), it’s clear these images were made by people with an intimate knowledge of animal behavior and anatomy
the fact that any part of these works survives in our hearts and minds across 30,000 years, that any part of us can see something like this and recognize it as not only true and alive, but art… well, there’s a reason I have multiple cave paintings tattooed on me
