I have a game dev blog! For my game dev stuff! I thought that if I announced what I was doing publicly maybe I’d have a reason to actually do something. Using blogging to be productive I guess. But! Feel free to follow if that sort of thing is interesting to you.
Tumblr may or may not be kill soon. Where else can I find you before it feels over?
Find me on demoargenti.bsky.social

I understand that we live in contentious times, but saying that “anger doesn’t persuade,” is uh, wild. Idk. Things suck. People should be upset about it. Getting people riled up can lead to peace, especially if not speaking out allows the truly hateful to destroy everything. Loving your enemy sometimes means making it so they can no longer hurt anyone.
I have loved this way of talking about the atonement (and grace more broadly) for a long time. It is not up to us to “repay” what Christ has given us by way of his Atonement. Rather, it is for us to “actively receive” it with gratitude, to let it into our life, and let it transform us, and become the kind of person who wants to share the gift of God’s love with everyone else. “Because I have been given much, I too must give.”
I really love this talk. As John says, “God is love,” and when we love, we take upon us his image. Our willingness to be disciples of Christ depends on our willingness to love as he did, even if it is hard. What a beautiful, profound message.
Yes I agree that reverence is important, and as is respecting sacred things. But I think conflating that with dogmatically following church messaging is not great tbh. Sometimes what people say is sacred and untouchable shouldn’t be. More often than not, in fact. The key is revering Christ, and questioning people and institutions. These things are not in conflict, they are both essential.
But also yeah society is a bit vapid and distracted, but I kind of feel that even if it’s worse than it used to be, it’s always been this way lol. People don’t really live their own lives, so much as move through their lives thoughtlessly. Deliberate contemplation, respecting the sacred, and cutting out distractions is vital
Why are we talking about how to use AI in line with the spirit
Edit: Like, this isn’t exactly super pro AI, but its still a weird way to talk about it. And he didn’t even define what “inappropriate use of AI” even means. He basically said nothing lol
oh god
oh god oaks talk
Yet another talk about God’s forgiveness and grace, very nice. I love the idea that God will not blame us for circumstances outside our control that prevent us from being “perfect.” That our best is enough, and that God accepts the desires of our hearts as a worthy offering unto him. Some really excellent talks today.
