the relevance of it being Ravi who defies the order is so huge to me. Bobby tries to do it first, he's the Captain and he has the authority to fight back, but it's Ravi who is one step ahead. who didn't even pause to think because why would he? he's the one person who has survived illness in a way that shaped his outlook of helping. of course it was him, of course he doesn't care what any obstructing authority says. he got back on the horse after the disappointment from an earlier call but this was always going to be the call where he would never hesitate. also the thread of him going for Chim. the person who brought him back into the 118 when Ravi was lingering at the training academy feeling unsure. of course it had to be him.

mavi reveal and bobbys soooooo supportive he's so supportive, he pats ravi's back and tells him he's a good kid and he hugs may and tells her he chose well then they leave and he turns to athena and goes HE'S WANTED BY THE US ARMY, ATHENA.

gonna be watching the next few episodes with mayravi glasses.......what if they interact at bobby's funeral.......what if ravi is the last person with cap when he "dies"........what if the first time he ever meets may is having to tell her the details of the worst thing that's ever happened to both of them. what if he's wracked with terrible terrible guilt and may just hugs him and says thank you for being with him. for staying with him until the end.

can we put may in an amy march state of mind for mavi.... like maybe when she comes back to la she ends up tagging along with the 118 for post-shift drinks & hangouts & activities (at buck &, mortifyingly, bobby's insistence. because maybe it's a little harder to make friends as a 25 year old moving back to your hometown than may wants to admit). months of hanging out with everyone but usually buck and eddie and ravi. then somewhere along the line may realizes that her stepdad's favorite employees are maybe her best friends in the world. and horrifyingly ravi has beautiful hair and sparkly eyes and really really strong arms. and is very tall. & when ravi turns to ask may a question about her day at dispatch she feels a little bit like a kid with a seat at the grownup table with how much she wants him to be impressed by her. (he is very impressed. she studies for the lsat on her lunch breaks & he's like. am i allowed to be turned on by this????)
