The CRA basically turns cybersecurity into a product safety requirement. It shifts responsibility onto manufacturers and software producers, rather than end users, to prevent cyber vulnerabilities. It applies to almost any product that connects to a network or runs software, and once it’s fully in force you could face some big fines for non-compliance, not to mention being no longer able to sell the offending product in the EU.
