#colleaguesofftheclock 🚣♂️ David Flory is in his element on, in, and around the water His passion for rowing has taken Röhm’s Head of Treasury all the way to Venice, where he is learning the traditional art of “vogare” – mastering the gondola while standing and navigating safely through the narrow, busy canals. Rowing in Venice is done standing up with a view of the bow to move nimbly and in a confined space over the water. "This traditional technique is very demanding. Currents, wind, and the traffic in the canals require concentration and a lot of practice," he says. From Site to Office: Safety Starts with All of Us 🚧 Throughout June, Röhm employees and contractors in Shanghai came together to strengthen safety awareness, develop practical skills, and reinforce our shared commitment to a safe and healthy workplace. As part of our 2026 Safety Month, colleagues at both our production site and office location participated in a wide range of interactive activities, hands-on training sessions, and technology demonstrations. 🚀🦺 From exploring innovative safety solutions and ergonomic support technologies to emergency response training and defensive driving workshops, employees had the opportunity to engage with safety in a practical and memorable way. New Methanol Pipeline Strengthens Sustainable Supply in Wesseling Together with Evonik, the Chemiepark Lülsdorf GmbH and the infrastructure experts from SYNEQT Pipelines, a new four‑kilometer methanol pipeline connecting Lülsdorf and Wesseling has been successfully realized. The pipeline enables a safe, continuous, and low‑emission supply of methanol for our Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) production in Wesseling. This jointly developed solution is logistically efficient, economically viable, and designed for the long term. It also delivers clear environmental benefits: the switch to natural gas‑based methanol results in CO₂ savings of around 20 kt CO₂ equivalents, contributing to Scope 3 reduction targets. "Here, we see an industrial network that not only connects facilities, but also people, competencies, and strategies. Redefining Chemistry: Welcome to the next era of MMA production Yesterday marked a major milestone: we officially opened our new C2-based MMA plant in Bay City, Texas – together with more than 80 guests, including customers, partners, suppliers, and public representatives. Seeing LiMA technology in operation at full industrial scale is something we are incredibly proud of. During the event, our guests explored key production areas – from the control room to our digital twin and the impressive distillation unit – experiencing first-hand how innovation becomes reality. As the first C2-based MMA producer in North America, we are strengthening regional supply chains and moving closer to our customers. At the same time, LiMA sets new benchmarks in sustainability: significantly lower energy and water consumption and up to 42% less CO₂ emissions compared to conventional processes. 🌱 What makes this achievement even more special: LiMA started more than a decade ago as an idea in our R&D organization – with the ambition to produce MMA cleaner, safer, and more efficient. This vision has now become reality in Bay City, Texas. We had a blast! 🚀 Great turnout at Röhm’s Apprenticeship Open Day: Around 360 visitors took the opportunity last Friday to get to know our training site in Worms. At around 20 stations and information booths, our apprentices and trainers showcased their professions in a hands-on way, invited visitors to try things out, and were available for personal conversations. Our apprenticeships are not only diverse but also exciting – offering numerous opportunities to contribute individual strengths and actively shape one’s professional future. A real highlight: the hands-on activities, where visitors could get involved themselves. 💡
