The 2D fighting genre, once thought to be a dying category, now flourishes thanks to major franchises and underground hits. Invincible VS straddles the line of those two classifications, bringing a red-hot IP into the space by way of a new studio made up of fighting-game veterans. The result is a 3v3 tag fighter with rock-solid mechanics, strong production values, and a fun, if flawed, story mode, enabling Invincible VS to go blow-for-blow with many of its contemporaries right out of the gate.

While Invincible VS serves the brawlers at heart, it slightly falls short when it comes to giving loyal fans a deeper connection to the original franchise. It also could have used more content and tools to help close the gap between competitive pros and players still trying to find their footing.
Invincible VS delivers a fun, frantic, and brutal fighting game experience. While it can be unforgiving at times, it never feels like you don’t have the tools to survive the bloody battles it challenges you with.
Get ready for an ass-kicking: Invincible VS pulls no punches, but it’s nothing players can’t handle. Those new to fighting games will find this a decently complex experience; vets of the genre will appreciate its surprising wealth of offensive and defensive options, which add just the right amount of depth to make it feel like a legitimate challenge against other sweats in ranked.
Invincible VS has a ton of potential to make a splash at tournaments. It's brutal, frenetic, and fun, and it's clear that Quarter Up made this with fighting-game love for the source material. It is incredibly easy to pick up and play.
If you are someone that enjoys single-player content in fighting games, then Invincible VS won't hold your attention for more than a few hours. However, for those who are ready to go online, then you are going to have a lot of fun with this, especially if you are a fan of the source material. Fans of Invincible are going to go crazy over this game and they did a perfect job adapting to the IP to a new medium. It's a very good 3v3 fighting game but the full package does feel a little barebones.
How has it taken this long to get an Invincible game?
Invincible VS doesn't have a steep learning curve like many fighting games in the genre, but it is easy to pick up and understand, even if that's to a fault.
Invincible VS is a 3v3 fighter from Quarter Up, a Skybound studio made up of a bunch of former developers of 2013’s Killer Instinct. Fans of that fighter likely have their interest piqued by that tidbit alone; fans of Amazon’s Invincible TV series fall into that same camp.
Invincible VS is a brilliantly brutal extension of the comic and Amazon Prime cartoon, offering up visceral, fluid battling and a genuinely entertaining single-player mode. The AI feels incredibly smart, adjusting its strategies mid-fight and creating a fluid pace for combat. It is missing a few key actors, but everyone does such a wonderful job, it doesn't hurt that badly. If you're looking for a way to pass the time until season 5 of the show hits in 2027, Invincible VS is a bloody good time.
As two fists collide, the sheer force of their impact causes debris and millions of dollars to fly about in Titan’s penthouse. Conquest, the mad Viltrumite, relishes in this carnage, stating that he’ll turn his opponent, Robot, into a helmet. Conquest starts his barrage on the armored hero as he launches Robot up into the air. Conquest reels back, giving Robot one more moment to endure, only to see Battle Beast charge through the opening left by Conquest. With an exasperated “Seriously?...
