These were some preliminary sketches for my Princess and the Pea(shooter) painting that I've been wanting to share. Explorations for faces, poses, colours, and design
“Who left this pea under there? Allow me to return the favour.” (I swear to god the 1st and 2nd pictures are different) The Princess and the Pea(shooter) for the character design challenge’s theme from February, fairytale fighting arena. The 2nd picture is more of a distorted fisheye lens than the 1st, and the 3rd is a dutch tilt. I wanted to share the different versions :)
Voila, my thesis film "When in Rome" which I spent almost a year working on. "A warrior travels far and wide to save her love, but one thing stands in her way" This is the culmination of 3 years of studying 3D. I learnt so much making this film and boy was it a fun and challenging journey. It's not perfect but I'm proud of myself nonetheless. I went in knowing very little and came out knowing how to make a film :) Coming up with the whole look of it, painting the backgrounds, designing, and doing stylized animation for this was a fantastic experience!
Who would've thought that a derping peach with a stitch is the face of true evil
Pointy objects <3 I couldn't for the life of me flatten the ripples out of my paper x-x
I forgot how difficult watercolor can be
inktober day 8: "I'm the monster? I was not the one who ignorantly brought the virus upon this land and then continued to defile it." I summoned my inner Kentaro Miura. This started as an experiment with rendering fur so I studied Zodd, and it somehow escalated into this? I tried to quickly emulate how I thought he would ink this, it wasn't that quick XD Now I maybe get why he puts so much detail though. I couldn't stop myself, it was so satisfying to see it turn into this. I like this creature guy, I think I'll explore him more. The "monster" design was based off the sunda flying lemur. The greys were done digitally, not in marker, because technically this was supposed to be a quick test so I inked a photocopy of my original drawing (which also meant I couldn't erase the printed pencil lines x_x). How naive lmao.
inktober day 7: A traveling merchant who was formerly in the military. He enjoyed traveling but wasn't so much a fan of killing people so he opted for a bit of a career change. He's been all over and has trinkets/objects from every place he's visited. He still carries a knife for self defense.
The last old print from 2015 con stuff, Dark Link. What a badass. And what a sick fight it is every time. I remember when I made this I wanted to find a middle ground and tried to give it a hint of sexiness, but not so overwhelming that people who aren’t into that wouldn’t want it XD
Guts! Old print #3 from 2015 con stuff.
