In Canada, a group of tech CEOs has come up with a political public relations effort called Build Canada, with the stated goal of strengthening the economy in the face of Trump’s threat to impose punishing tariffs. Trump has repeatedly linked the tariffs to annexing Canada and making our country the “51st state.”
So far, Build Canada’s website offers a series of short policy statements calling for 110,000 jobs to be cut from the federal public service over four years, AI to be used in government services, interprovincial trade barriers to come down and the federal government to step in to compel provinces and municipalities to allow autonomous vehicles and delivery robots. There are also calls for immigration for humanitarian reasons to be sharply curtailed in favour of higher-income and highly skilled immigrants, and to fund content creators to tell inspiring stories about Canada.
But Build Canada is connected to another website called Canada Spends that looks a lot like the DOGE.gov website.
Absolute human garbage.
The Australian conservative party, the Liberal Party, also has similar plans which will be tested at a Federal Election later this year.
There is an election on in Canada. It is absolutely critical, under all circumstances, that Trump's little mini-me, Pierre Poilievre of the Conservative Party, not win.

I'd say its just people wanting to lovingly tease their pets, but I've come across several conversations recently of people wondering what genetically causes orange cats "to be that way". I think it's because they are a cat.
It's even weirder because people act like "orange cat behaviour" is a long-standing cultural stereotype and not something that popped up in the last five years!
Some women are conditioned to be fragile and weak, and to believe that it's a sin to outperform a man. Her feminism would involve allowing women to be strong.
Some women are expected to be strong at times when they can't. Her feminism would involve reassuring her that it's okay to not be strong.
Some neurodivergent people are raised to believe that they're too stupid to ever amount to anything. Their disability activism would involve reassuring them that they're capable.
Some neurodivergent people are raised to believe that they're smart and gifted, and are expected to live up to impossible standards. Their disability activism would involve allowing them to fail, make mistakes, be stupid, etc.
Some children are constantly reminded "you're the child, I'm the adult" in order to deny their autonomy. Their youth rights activism would involve treating them like an adult at times when they feel ready for it.
Some children are treated like adults in order to justify increased expectations or to downplay abuse against them. Their youth rights activism would involve allowing them to be a child.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution to oppression. Each individual person's experience is different. Whatever trauma is caused by their oppression, the activism should focus on undoing it.
If you're a single issue feminist and you want to raise your son to respect women but you also use authoritarian parenting, you're pretty much guaranteeing that your son will be sexist. You're pretty much guaranteeing that your son will think being sexist is siding with the resistance, which is a common piece of propaganda that sexists use.
If you deny any struggles that he has and you expect him to care about women's struggles, you're pretty much guaranteeing that he will see feminism as women getting special treatment.
If you demand that he respect women and also demand that he respect authority, and if you call it "disrespect" when he yells at you in direct response to you yelling at him first, then you're pretty much guaranteeing that he won't take complaints of "disrespect" seriously.
If you rule with an iron fist and make him afraid of you, you're pretty much guaranteeing that he won't respect anyone who can't make him afraid of them, and the vast majority of women who he disrespects are not going to be able to make him afraid.
If you want him to question society's harmful attitudes against women, you also have to raise him to question society's harmful attitudes that benefit you. This includes society's harmful attitudes against children.
