„I have worked with David during the digitization of the Swiss Customs Administration. David supported the largest Epic (Import and Export) in the program and helped to coordinate with other Epics and help to develop a more focused approach in our efforts, in his role of the Epic Manager. During our collaboration, we managed to streamline our backlog, integrate two Epic Teams into one and define an MVP for our Epic (to deliver faster value to our Users). David ensured an agile approach and helped us to overcome impediments and, in some cases, internal Team struggles. For a recent piece by VentureCapital Magazin, I was asked to share my views on how the industry has been evolving over the past decades and how the narrative is changing: 💡 The hype around unicorns was fueled by a high volume of available capital, bold risk-taking, and tech success stories. But we’ve also learned that sky-high valuations don’t always translate into lasting business success. 💡 Today, the conversation has become more nuanced: Profitability and long-term scalability are taking center stage, unicorns still remain an important benchmark for the competitiveness of a startup ecosystem and the focus is shifting from valuation peaks to sustainable growth. 💡 The next chapter for private capital will be written by those who can balance innovation, resilience, and value creation over time.
