digital art of Paele, a red kitsune. he wears a mask of a white fox, with a placid, pleasant expression. but a black horn erupts out of his forehead, shattering the mask and leaving one very angry-looking eye of his true face visible. behind the mask, we can see he has one lopped ear, while the mask has two straight ears. his hands are lifted up to his head as he mimes ears. overlaid is the text: I just can't understand the simplest things, Who am I behind this face? Shaken by the hand of night, it seems, stirring in a dream, Like your love for me It’s leaving, it’s leaving I'm a hypocrite who doesn't know when to quit, Phony, phony, PHONY!ALT

Still tangled up in lies, I see, I’m just a fake phony

god I hate this asshole. the way his “mask” has straight ears when the real Paele has a floppy one, because even before he became a demon he was never wearing his true face. the way these lyrics are from a remix of two covers of the same song because he’s buried so deep in lies that he’s not even sure what personality is the real one. the way his clothes and mask have integrate nines, like the nine-tailed goddess that gave him wondrous powers and told him nothing about how to handle them. I want him dead
