you, yes You dear reader, should be wearing a mask in public in general, and especially if you are showing symptoms of any transmissible illness
Please ask me for help if you are having trouble finding a mask that works. There are so many good ones and they keep getting more comfy and easy to breathe in.
I don’t have any breathing troubles with masks, but my face is so small that every mask I’ve tried pokes me in the eyes, even when I really pinch the nose wire thing. I can never get an airtight seal either.
Any recommendations?
Check out armbrust usa’s kid kn95 masks. Also try Draeger’s n95 1750 or the small version of their 1950. Dr. Puri kf94 small might also work.
Before covid, i was able to adjust an n95 cup mask to fit my then-5 yo by shifting the nose wire to the correct position and putting a pleat under his chin and securing it with gorilla tape because there were no kid masks but we’ve got really decent options now for children and small faces, so hopefully you can find something.
Last resort would be readimask, which uses adhesive, not nose wires or ear loops/head loops. I use them pretty much exclusively for MRIs, but as you set the top of the mask in place first and then pinch all excess under the chin, I suspect you could get a good fit. Not an ideal option for oily skin. Not suitable for situations where you need a lot of on and off.
My pt has a tiny face and did well with no glasses fogging in the Draeger 1750 explorer.
You might also find the armbrust sampler to be helpful.
If you can’t find these specific masks lmk and I’ll hunt down the links. I get Dr. Puri from Amazon, as well as the draegers, and armbrust from the armbrust website. Readimask from the readimask website.
Oh, and blox n95s are insanely cheap and run tight, so those are worth a shot. I get those from the blox website. Seriously 25 cents per n95 and insanely breathable. They’re a duckbill, which looks stupid but seems to fit a wide range of face shapes. The elastic is very snug, so not my fave for comfort but I have a large head.
Another great source for mask recommendations and advice is the subreddit r/masks4all.
TONS of brand recommendations have been discussed for years there and people frequently share info on sales, discount codes, sample packs, etc. Sample packs are great because you can try some different styles and see what works without committing to buying a 20 pack or whatever
The sub also has advice for finding/styling masks so they are a cute part of your outfit in addition to the function as PPE. Reduce disease spread, hide your face from surveillance, and serve cunt all at once
They also have advice for sensory issues with masks—how to avoid fogging glasses, avoiding condensation underneath it, finding masks that are lighter/way more breathable, finding different head strap/loop styles to avoid headaches, etc. Even “mask hacks” like how to swap out the straps on a mask that otherwise fits well, adding a valve you can use a straw through to stay hydrated without removing it, or adding nose foam/tape to get rid of gaps or keep scratchy fabric from rubbing your skin
And if you want to mask but buying quality ones is too expensive, look for your local mask bloc (many cities have one) which help get masks to people who can’t afford them. If you have $$ to spare, donation to your local mask bloc is a great way to make an impact in your community to help them get good quality masks to people who need them
ceasefire today, accountability from tomorrow until the end of time. all my love to the steadfast people and martyrs of gaza
in common israeli behavior, as phase I of the ceasefire expires today israel attempts to sabotage the ceasefire again to avoid accountability.
they have violated the conditions for phase I and are refusing to move to phase II by announcing a war crime instead: resuming the starvation siege and preventing international aid from entering gaza during ramadan. this is all par for the course. israel has never met an agreement it wouldn’t break, nor missed an opportunity to inflict more suffering. accountability will come regardless, but now is the time to be alert, especially as western media tries to obfuscate the reasons for the ceasefire violations.
tonight at 3 am israel unilaterally ended the ceasefire and resumed the genocide in gaza, killing at least 45 people so far including dozens of children. for two weeks it had already been starving gazans in ramadan and preventing aid, food and fuel from getting in. accountability is a very long game. the more violent they get, the longer they put it off, the more the world will continue to pay.
i’ve been saying this for two years, but it doesn’t hurt to say it again: the short term of this is ugly. there’s no short-term solution. things are going to get more violent. but the long-term is already lost to them. all we have to do is stay the course, and don’t let them intimidate you into silence or exhaust you with the sheer scale of the violence. these are the tactics of a bully nation led by a bully sponsor, and the world has seen all of them fall before
Mahmoud Khalil’s unlawful arrest by ICE
His wife, Noor, states:
On November 7, 2024, Denmark used a racist, culturally biased “parenting competency” test to remove a 2 hour old baby, Zammi, from her loving indigenous Greenlandic Inuit mother, Keira, because her native language, which uses minute facial expressions to communicate, will not be able to “[prepare] the child for the social expectations and codes that are necessary to navigate in Danish society.” This test had been recommended not to be used at the federal level before this happened but certain municipalities, including the one this happened in, chose to continue to use it regardless. Not only is this blatantly racist but also violates multiple declarations and conventions that Denmark has signed that protect the rights of indigenous people.
Please sign this petition to help Keira to get her baby back.
Hey, it’s really important for Keira to get 50,000 signatures on this petition before her court date in early April 2025. Please sign if you haven’t already to help a mother and a people stand up to colonialism and for indigenous rights.
DOGE just froze funding to vital Federal and Indigenous conservation programs devoted to supporting the very delicate and tenuous existence of the black-footed ferret.
I fell in love with these animals as a kid traveling to our National Parks. Their rarity and ferocity made me sharply aware, even as a child, of just how much of a responsibility we have toward our environment. I can’t bear the thought of them being a fucking casualty of Trump and Musk.
Look at them! They do war dances.
Okay I don’t want to end this on doom and gloom, so I’m also going to add that the Buffalo Nations Grasslands Alliance was one of the indigenous-lead organizations who were supposed to receive a $1.1 million dollar grant that has since been frozen. But they do have a website and they do accept donations.

A reminder to the “the American government wouldn’t…” crowd. They have. They have made their own internment camps before. They have rounded up innocent citizens and immigrants before. The victims of which are still alive to this day and trying to share their stories with the world, they have been trying to warn us for a long time.
George Takei (as seen above) is a famous example of this. He has written about his experiences time and time again, even publishing a book talking about his time in these camps. He may be famous now, but at the time he was just another kid forced from his home. To this day he still firmly dedicates himself to trying to educate and inform people, trying to spread awareness with his platform.
The American Government can and will do terrible things. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise.https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/immigration/article293785769.html
This isn’t a hypothetical future btw, it is already underway. Hundreds of human rights groups and experts already signed an open letter condemning the Biden administration for using Guantanamo Bay to hold migrants captive, most of them Haitians.
