I’m currently living in a au where Jinx is just Like That and doesn’t hear the voices of her dead foster brothers all the time.
In this Au Jinx still goes around blowing buildings up but they are all empty and conveniently about to be knocked down anyway. Cait spends her free time trying to make her stop but the city refuses to help her because having Jinx knock down buildings is cheaper then hiring people to do it.
In this au Vi’s tragic backstory is that she has to hear people call Vander a dilf

Vander had a sign in the bar that said ‘no cops allowed’ but has to change it when Vi and Cait start dating. Jinx keeps putting the original back up and each time she does she adds another exclamation point and lots of angry frownly faces
This week, I read a fic that was around 20 years old, which had originally been posted on the author’s personal website and which she added to AO3 a few years ago. She listed her email address with the fic, so after I finished reading, I sent her an email saying how much I enjoyed the story, how much I appreciated the work and effort she obviously put into it, and thanked her for uploading it to AO3. She responded the next day and thanked me for my message, then said she had a few more stories in the same series that she hadn’t gotten around to uploading. I checked this morning–she added a 35,000 word novella and thanked me in the summary.
