Most of a dev's week runs on the same loop; pick up a Jira ticket, read the acceptance criteria, write the components, add the tests, open a PR, wait for review, then do it again. A decent chunk of that is mechanical, and it starts to eat away at the hours you'd rather spend on the problems that are hard. So one of our engineers, Gim Yong, wired Jira, the Cursor SDK and GitHub into one workflow. It reads the ticket, proposes an approach, and tells you exactly which files it wants to touch, but nothing gets written until a human approves the plan. Gimyong has written a blog post on how he built the agentic Jira to PR workflow, and how it changed his week > https://lnkd.in/g3f-z868 #AgenticAI #SoftwareEngineering #DeveloperProductivity #AI #EngineeringLeadership

Busy and progressing aren't the same thing. Fast-growing companies are usually full of both - full sprints, constant standups, ideas coming faster than they can ship. But without a clear hierarchy of what actually matters, you can run hard and not get very far. We've written a blog on why delivery stalls at scale - and how to get it moving again: https://lnkd.in/gnMzgSBF #TechLeadership #ProductDelivery #ScaleUp #DigitalStrategy #MelbourneTech

Families lose hours (and peace of mind) hunting for documents when it matters most - insurance claims, medical emergencies, estate admin. We just helped a Sydney start-up fix that. In 6 months, we built their AI-powered life admin platform from the ground up: AWS Bedrock automatically reads and categorises documents across licenses, insurance, medical, legal and financial, while allowing users to stay firmly in control. Shipped as a single React Native codebase, secured with end-to-end encryption and household-level permissions, and ready on day one for 2,000 customers migrating in from a competitor. The Restive team delivered production-grade AI, without cutting corners on security or user trust. "Do we need a tool, or can we just build it ourselves?" It sounds like disciplined leadership, but this framing does damage. Buy a tool and carry a subscription, or build it with engineers you already pay for. Put that way, building always looks cheaper. But when research shows that 95% of enterprise AI pilots show no measurable ROI, you start to realize that the real issue is fast internal builds that proved a concept and then never got funded as infrastructure. Our Head of Product and Delivery, Serar A. Serar, has written a blog on this and the three ownership questions to ask before approving an internal build. Full piece in the comments 👇

Here’s the question we ask: Are you simply using AI, or actually changing how your business operates because of it? Most companies aren't making the shift because they're too busy running fast on the spot. But if you genuinely want to implement AI and make it a strategic asset rather than a tech update, we've written a blog post on how you can actually do that: https://lnkd.in/gB5nPwsV #AIstrategy #AIimplementation #digitaltransformation #technology #futureofwork

The Disability Discrimination Act has been covering private businesses since 1992. If you run a website or app that provides a service to the public, you fall under this scope - and with the AHRC updating its digital accessibility guidelines in 2025, the rules on what's acceptable and what isn't are tighter than ever. In this blog post, we break down what the DDA actually means for your website, what the failure patterns that generate complaints look like, and how to figure out where you actually stand: https://lnkd.in/gyEQitTJ #DigitalAccessibility #DDA #Accessibility #WebAccessibility #WCAG #InclusiveDesign #AustralianBusiness #DigitalStrategy

We worked with a leading homewares retailer to turn its digital experience into a valuable growth channel, resulting in a $60M lift in annual revenue, and a 74% increase in transactions. Gaps in navigation, product discovery, checkout and service were costing them sales across every category. We were able to help them identify these gaps and implement small changes that made a big difference. If you want to know more or explore how you could achieve similar results, get in touch. #DigitalStrategy #CustomerExperience #Ecommerce #Retail #CRO

You could have the best product in the world, but if your site isn't set up to convert traffic into purchase action, then spending more on google ads isn't going to solve the problem. That's where CRO comes in, and it usually starts with small, incremental improvements that compound and can be the difference between long-term growth or stagnation. If you're curious about CRO, best practices, and what it might look like for your company, you can read more here: https://lnkd.in/gaydCuq4 #CRO #ConversionRateOptimisation #DigitalStrategy #UX #Ecommerce #GrowthMarketing #DigitalMarketing #AustralianBusiness

Shopify's DotDev wrapped up in Toronto last week, and Stuart and Paolo from the Restive team are back with some insights and key takeaways on what they saw and heard across the two days. AI-driven sessions are converting about 80% better than organic search, Shopify Collective is now taking the integration barrier out of B2B selling, and physical stores are becoming strategically more valuable, not less. We've got the 5 key takeaways you should know, why they matter, and what to do about them now, all written up into our latest blog post. Our Lead Engineering Consultant, Syafiq Sarif, built React components alongside an AI assistant on a recent client project. While it gave him working code in just a few seconds, it also gave him one file with state handling, rendering, event logic and stray utilities crammed together. We're seeing this same pattern everyday (and we're sure you probably are too) where AI assistants act like a super speedy but clumsy and forgetful coworker. In our latest blog post, Syafiq has written up the guardrails he sets before prompting, and the three pitfalls worth watching for.
