Over the weekend, Silvia Renda OAM, Nidhi Manchanda, and I had the privilege of attending the Australian Professionals of Multicultural Communities Gala, proudly representing Australian Financial Complaints Authority and MOSAIC as finalists across several award categories. Beyond the celebrations, it was an incredible evening connecting with people dedicated to championing cultural diversity, inclusion, and building truly safe workplaces. Highlights of the night were the panel discussion, which tackled everything from Emerging Technology including AI to Culturally Diverse leadership and presentation by Peter Mousaferiadis on how we measure, understand and value Cultural Diversity. At the heart of the conversation was a shared belief that a human-centred approach will always remain relevant no matter how much the world around us changes. I had the honor of sitting with leaders Sam Salehi Tara Dharnikota Jo Lim who have faced challenges, biases, and moments of doubt, yet continue to rise. My favorite topic: Future of Leadership 💫 🎇 They’re not perfect none of us are but they know 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆. They know 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲, 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴. What moved me most was how 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 they 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 their 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆. Whether born here or arriving as first‑generation migrants, they proudly carry their heritage and share their stories without hesitation. It was a reminder that 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿. 𝗕𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. Show up each day as the strongest version of who you already are. Aim to do one thing better than yesterday, growth doesn’t need to be dramatic to be meaningful. 𝗕𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁. Say clearly what you can do and what you cannot.
