See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

I’m sick of trying to be “that guy”

Im not that guy, I’m just me. I dont have to have “a thing.” I help my friends write essays, I struggle to apply for a job, then I drink some coffee. I play some games, read a book, listen to some music, but im not trying to make waves, I’m just trying to live. I’m not a psych major, I can’t explain every mental illness or identity or whatever people are trying to be the best at. I like people, I like being nice, and i think everyone should try it.

Pinned Post thats the post im just so tired of pretending to be better i dont like how much constant effort i have to put in just to win an online argument or some shit bunny posting bunny rants

By the way, you can improve your executive function. You can literally build it like a muscle.

Yes, even if you're neurodivergent. I don't have ADHD, but it is allegedly a thing with ADHD as well. And I am autistic, and after a bunch of nerve damage (severe enough that I was basically housebound for 6 months), I had to completely rebuild my ability to get my brain to Do Things from what felt like nearly scratch.

This is specifically from ADDitude magazine, so written specifically for ADHD (and while focused in large part on kids, also definitely includes adults and adult activities):

Here's a link on this for autism (though as an editor wow did that title need an editor lol):

Resources on this aren't great because they're mainly aimed at neurotypical therapists or parents of neurdivergent children. There's worksheets you can do that help a lot too or thought work you can do to sort of build the neuro-infrastructure for tasks.

But a lot of the stuff is just like. fun. Pulling from both the first article and my own experience:

  • Play games or video games where you have to make a lot of decisions. Literally go make a ton of picrews or do online dress-up dolls if you like. It helped me.
  • Art, especially forms of art that require patience, planning ahead, or in contrast improvisation
  • Listening to longform storytelling without visuals, e.g. just listening regularly to audiobooks or narrative podcasts, etc.
  • Meditation
  • Martial arts
  • Sports in general
  • Board games like chess or Catan (I actually found a big list of what board games are good for building what executive functioning skills here)
  • Woodworking
  • Cooking
  • If you're bad at time management play games or video games with a bunch of timers

Things can be easier. You might always have a disability around this (I certainly always will), but it can be easier. You do not have to be this stuck forever.

Play games with timers?? That just makes me anxiously rush through everything ;~;

the rest of these though? Yes YES DO THEM PLEASE

haha what if we were in a rainy damp forest & we’re too intoxicated with each others presence to notice the chill in the air so we keep pointing out flora & fauna along the riverbed until we head back inside & take edibles in a candlelit bath ?? and then once they kick in we like fuck ??

as much as i want to be a detached emotionless little slut, i am, alas, a romantic at heart 🤢

nsfw she gets me so well i wanna just be a heartless slut but i can't 😭

"Men in dresses are seen as bad, but women in pants aren't!"

is not the statement that "men can't be feminine but women can be masculine in society" that you think it is.

Let me introduce: women with facial hair. Full beards. Mustaches. Bald women. Bodybuilder women. Women with visible body hair. These aren't "more acceptable" than men in dresses.

Pants don't have a gendered association anymore, while dresses do. There is something to be said for that, but it certainly ISN'T "masculine women are acceptable now."

Btw, you can donate to menstrual hygiene kits for Sudanese women, which I would highly recommend if you can
