Idk where that post is that said “anybody who tells you other trans people are the enemy is a Fed” but yeah, can we bring back that energy please?

Trans woman are not trans men’s oppressors, trans men are not trans women’s oppressors, nonbinary people are not responsible for transphobes not taking trans people seriously.

Talking about transmysogyny is not oppressive to trans men. Using the word transandrophobia is not inherently transmysogynistic. Talking about exorsexism is not erasing binary trans peoples struggles.

Like comon guys this is really basic stuff can we all agree on these things before moving on?

your advocacy for diy hrt will never truly be revolutionary until you start advocating for the decriminalization of possessing anabolic steroids and stand in solidarity with the people fighting the DEA panopticon that spies on everyone prescribed a controlled substance and the prison-industrial complex that profits off of incarcerating people who self-medicate. advocacy for the status quo is always regressive, especially in the face of backsliding. don't leave us behind, don't leave any user of "dangerous drugs" behind.

The Dungeons & Dragons paladin is objectively the funniest class because at first glance it seems like an artefact of an earlier age of the fantasy genre for which contemporary inspirations are thin on the ground, but then you dig into its thematic core and realise there are contemporary popular media characters who almost perfectly fit the mould, but like 80% of them are deeply unwell teenage lesbians.

Like, oh, you're running Oath of Devotion? So is this like an Adora Princessesofpower thing, or are you shooting more for Gideon Nav?

Boycott launch date of Switch 2 and buy it the next day, June 6.

This has worked before:

When the 3DS released, it was over priced too. No one bought it so then they lowered the price!

It has happened before, it can happen again.

If you can wait even 1 day at least, or 1 week at best, it will make a difference.

Spread the news. In solidarity of those who can't buy Switch 2, those who can buy it should at least boycott the launch date. I garantee you it WILL make a difference.

Remember the consumer is always right.

You could also just… not buy it until the price goes down? Yall have other games you can play right

This^

You won't die if you don't buy it until the price drops. You actually won't even die if you NEVER buy it.

Just leave it alone until they learn their lesson again.

Hey so that was a great date, yeah, but I don't think it's going to work out. Nono you didn't do anything wrong, and I have indeed had a crush on you since we started high school, it's just... well, I didn't want to bring it up at the time but we kinda got sucked into a portal fantasy midway through. We saved the kingdom over and over, relying on our knowledge of and trust in each other every time, throwing ourselves into the firing line to protect each other and using each others' conviction as a rock. We got married and lived a happy life together until the portal sucked us back mid-battle and you gave up all your memories of our journey in order to save my life right when we ended up back in the coffee shop. Yeah that was when I got a bit weird and went to the bathroom.

Anyway I thought we could push on and make the date work but I have all of these memories of secrets that this you never chose to share, decisions that this you never made, and intimacies that this you never experienced. And it's kind of screwing with the vibe yeah. Also on the date it was really, blatantly clear that you're sixteen whereas I have memories of ruling a fantasy kingdom for thirty years so like... that's a problem all on its own. Anyway this you just feels more like a daughter to me. A daughter with the woman I gave my heart and soul to over and over and received like in return, only to lose her forever on the journey home. On the plus side I can definitely help you with your math homework now.

#what the fuck#this one was actually really very short why is it still like that what

The shorter it is, the more concentrated the what the fuck can be.

You might think your anime opening is cool, but is it “seamlessly put a ‘previously on…’ segment in the MIDDLE of the opening and have it kick ass every time” cool?

Hello, if you have not seen Baccano!, and want to see a BEAUTIFULLY constricted anime with an incredible soundtrack and some of the best characters of all time, watch Baccano!.

It’s 26 long-run episodes and you need to be paying attention because it’s played out-of-order ala pulp fiction, and it kicks So. Much. Ass.

This is going to be a really half baked thought but

I feel like any attempt to break down the effects of HRT into a snappy, bulleted list of distinct "this exact thing will change" type effects, will ultimately always end up as an underexaggeration

There's not a great way to counter this, so I understand why it happens. But, for example, if the primary way you're explaining transfemme HRT is "breast growth and some fat redistribution", as opposed to "all new tissues formed by my body are now in a female configuration, and I have to wait for my body's natural turnover rate to slowly get rid of the old male tissue, and my body is therefore being completely restructured because of it", that first version is always going to sound like an understatement to me.

But of course, that second explanation is mostly useless, practically, as it doesn't set distinct expectations well.

catboybiologist

If the person you're talking to is willing to sit through a longer explanation, then I've found the second one can be a useful starting point. It provides a framework to conceptualize all changes on HRT, and you can give the biggest examples of what does or "doesn't " change based on the turnover rate.

Eg:

Fat: high turnover rate. Will therefore cause noticeable changes to appearance quickly.

Muscle. High turnover rate, see above.

Cartilage: slow ish but noticeable turnover rate. Changes, but over a longer period of time.

Bone: technically can change based on preliminary evidence, but very slow turnover rate, so that's on the scale of decades and aging gets in the way.

Genitalia: there actually are a lot of changes to the soft surrounding tissue of genitalia (for both transmacs and transfemmes) but a few core structural features are obviously much slower to change. Preliminary research shows that trans differentiation of primary sex tissue is possible, but most likely not at a rate that's practically relevant. Yet.

Breast tissue: a new tissue that doesn't need anything to make way for it! Which therefore goes through rapid "growth spurt" stages, growing fast while it's being added, but plateaus while not in one of those spurts.

And of course this doesn't cover EVERYTHING in the body, but with a couple of examples, you've created a framework to think about HRT that's more accurate than just "take pill that has a short list of effects".
