The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act was introduced in early 2026, and has since passed through the House of Representatives. As of this post, it’s still under consideration in the Senate. The requirements of the SAVE Act are repetitive, inefficient, and would further complicate the processes already in place nationwide. Though the provisions of the bill are meant to protect the sanctity of American elections, its passing would cause more damage than it prevents. The SAVE Act would increase burdens on election officials, creating additional errors they must remedy, opening avenues that make them susceptible to civil and criminal penalties, and raising their concerns for personal safety. Our research team is tracking nearly 600 ballot measures across 24 states set to be on the ballot this November at the statewide, county, city, township and school district level ✅ That includes 24 statewide measures on the ballot in 6 states: Maine, Colorado, Washington, California, New York and Texas (which has a whopping 17 statewide measures on the ballot).
